Saturday -- Assisi

Saturday we spent the entire day in Assisi, home town of Saints Francis & Clare! Assisi is so quaint, so medieval -- you feel like you're living in a century from long ago!

The bus had to let us off down at the bottom of the hill because buses won't fit in the narrow streets of Assisi! So we walked up the hill to the Basilica of Saint Francis. Here are some of the sights:

Back home, how long do you think it would take before the "separation of church and state" crowd (or atheists) would pressure the property owners to paint over this religious image?
